Wolverine Comic Lot
Wolverine Comic Lot

Includes;
Wolverine Comic Lot 1-109

I FOUND this Ad on craigslist and what a Great find it is. A Huge lot of Wolverine comic books. Wolverine 1-109, Wolverine Orgins 1-6, Wolverine Gambit 1-4, Ghost Rider/ Wolverine 3 books, Weapon X1-4, Spiderman VS Wolverine, Hulk Vs Wolverine, and much much more! Over 200 Comics in all including a few Sabortooth comics.

If you're a Wolverine fan, then this is the collection for you. Over 200 comics and all for only $150.00. Yeah I know that's a bit high for Modern Age comics. But you consider the Wolverine run as a whole, well, you're just not going to find them altogether like this for that price.

Having said all that, keep in mind that I do not know the seller, and that you will have to do your own Due Diligence as to the legitimacy of this Ad. In other words, Buyer Beware!

Nevertheless, and as I said. "If you're a Wolverine fan", then you should Really check this out.

Johnny Lighting Diecast 1950's Batmobile

I Found these two Really Cool Johnny Lighting Batmobiles for sale on craigslist and thought maybe somebody would like to check it out. One is a 1950's model Batmobile, and the other is a 1960's Batmobile. Both are $30 each or $50 for both.
Johnny Lighting Diecast 1950's Batmobile

I've never seen one of these in person, and I do not know the seller. So I cannot attest to the quality or value of these two Batmobiles. However the seller did post their Phone# in their craigslist Ad, so it should be easy enough to call and find out. I would also ask for better pictures, and ask if they have ever been taken out of their boxes. But hey, all I did was find the Ad so that the Due Diligence is up to you and of course, Buyer Beware. Note, more pictures are post in seller's Ad.

600 Comic Books For Sale $75

The Comic Book Listings Blog:

Comic Book Listing News:

600
Comic Books For Sale
$75

If you read my post (which was really a Rant) about "how Not to Sell Your Comic Books"; you will note that I hate sellers who do not provide Pictures or even a "list" with their Ads. And such is the case we have here. However, in this case, - the case of 600 Comics Books for $75 - I figured I would make an exception.

What's the exception?
Sure, there are No Pics, and the "list" is nothing more than a lack-luster description. But, I LIKE the way the seller starts is Ad.

"I need some fast cash so I am selling my comics".

Now this, is how to sell your comic books. Well, let me put that another way. "This", is how you Attract Buyers.

Now all you need is some Local collector who's willing to spend some gas money to find out what comics you got. Otherwise you're gonna have buyers Asking you for a list and some pics, anyway. And come to think of of it, even a local collector is gonna wanna know what he's spending all that gas for, Before he spends the gas. So remember, along with a Great Title for your Ad, you're gonna need pics and a list of your comics.

At any rate, and along with the great selling price. This seller gives just enough description of his comics to at Least give you an idea as to what he has for sale. And that it might be worth checking out. Having said that, here is the...

Seller's Description
I need some fast cash so I am selling my comics,
300 are Marvel and D.C. comics from the last 15 years to just bought.
The other 300 comics are from different publishers, comic books that are not really meant for kids.
The comics are all in brand new condition.
These will go fast.

Update: This Listing has Expired on craigslist.

How Not to Sell your Comic Books

The Comic Book Listings Blog:

Comic Book Listing News:

How Not to Sell your Comic Books

As a Comic Book Collector, naturally I'm Always checking the classifieds. And if there is one thing about "some" sellers that just Pisses me off, it is when they begin their Ad with;

SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY

I mean, Come On! Are you SERIOUS?
In today's economy, if anybody is even looking for comicbooks for sale, then They Are Serious. The question is, "how serious". And the answer usually is, Not as serious as you would like for them to be.

Take the following craigslist Ad I found.

Comics for sale.... Serious Buyers (Arlington,Tx)

In it, the seller states, emphatically;
"Only looking for people that will pay full value not half!"

Well, Good Luck Chump! I mean if I, or anyone else wanted to Pay Full Price, then we would start by going to our local comicbook retailer, who (or whom), has a reputation of dealing squarely with it's customers. In deed, a buyer would come more closer to getting a Good Deal from a Comic Retailer than he would from an ARROGANT SOB! And truly because, the retailer is going to want your repeat business.

Oh, but there's more.
As the seller further states; "I can email you the list of what I have but I do know the full values of my comics". Truth is, I don't give a damn what your comics are worth... to You. I only care about what they are worth... to ME!!!

I mean;
I'm the dude with the CASH! You're just some poor Jerk who has gotten himself into trouble, and now NEEDS the money that I got, as otherwise you wouldn't be trying to sell your Over Priced comic books. Do I make myself clear?

And by the way. Why would you not post a picture of the comics you are selling? Are you Hiding something? I mean I know You SAY they "are bagged and boarded and boxed" and that "some are signed and have the certificate of proof". But you know what Mister seller? I DON"T TRUST YOU!!! anymore than you trust me. And as far as I'm concerned, you can Keep your comic books until you are Dead at which point, I will buy them for Nothing, from your poor grieving widow.

At least, that's what I would like to tell these self-inflated sellers. But alas, it is enough that I Use Them to show Real sellers, that if you Really want to sell your comics, Don't Be Such an @zzhole!

I mean a simplistic Ad stating "Comics For Sale" is bad enough. But when you feel that you must add, "Serious Buyers Only". Well, everybody Knows that's a joke. Not to mention that Your Fear of being cheated, and more so your Fear of someone Wasting your time, is probably why your world is collapsing. In fact, I'm willing to bet, that you don't even have time for your family.

Anyway folks, the point of my post, is to give you an example of How Not To Sell Your Comic Books, as you Do Not want to describe anything more in your Ads than the comic books you have for sale. Typically, the number of comics you have for sale, Title and Issue Numbers (if there aren't too many to list), Pictures are a Definite Plus, and finally the price that you are asking as it would have been better for this seller, to have asked More than what his comics are worth, but then added "Negotiable", to his Ad. Sure you may get a lot of Low Ball offers, but at least Serious buyers won't Hate you, and waste your time (setting up appointments and not showing up) just to piss you off. Oh, and you won't have somebody like me, blogging about somebody like you.

Either you wanna sell, or you don't.
But in either case, don't waste MY time!

Happy Selling,
Bargain Hunter

Womanthology organizer Renae De Liz hospitalized

Renae De Liz, the artist who spearheaded the Womanthology project and drew IDW’s recent The Last Unicorn comic, is recovering in a critical care unit due to an infection in her blood and kidneys, as well as other health issues.

“She has an infection that has spread into her blood and kidneys, as well as pneumonia and some other things we’re worried about, but I don’t want to say anything there until test results are back,” her husband Ray Dillon posted on his blog today. “As of today she’s doing a bit better and we’re told after perhaps a week in the Critical Care Unit she should be mostly recovered. It got really bad and we almost lost her. Been a very rough couple of weeks. We’re behind in work, income, communication, and our nerves are just shot from all this.”

Dillon notes De Liz does not have health insurance, and he has been asked by friends and fans if they can donate money to assist with the “likely $30k or more in medical bills we’re racking up here.” He adds that “right now we don’t have any dire need and there are a lot of people out there who probably do,” comparing their current situation to one where they lost their house a couple of years ago. “We might be paying these medical bills forever, but it’s not the same as needing to raise a certain amount by a certain time to save a house or to have a major operation to save a life or anything like that,” he said.

If you’re inclined to help, he has a donate button set up on his site where you can do so through PayPal. It would also likely help if you bought something from his Amazon store, where you can find several of the projects he (and De Liz) worked on.

Avengers Thor Statue For Sale! (Jack Kirby Art)

The Comic Book Listings Blog:

Listing News:

Avengers Thor Statue For Sale!
(Jack Kirby Art)

Now This is Pretty Cool!

Based on the Original Classic Art by Jack Kirby
, this Mighty Thor statue stands like a literal god upon the field of battle. Huge and muscular, the god of thunder poses triumphantly with his magical hammer Mjolnir held high above his head as though daring the enemies of Asgard to challenge him.

The classic look is authentic from the colorful costume (sleeveless black belted tunic with silver discs, blue pants, yellow wrapped high boots, and red cape) to his hair and accessories (red and black wristbands and silver winged helmet). Thor has an incredibly detailed sculpt that captures every bulging muscle, crease and fold of his costume, and the flowing strength of his cape and long blonde hair. Particularly well done are the powerful but battle worn Mjolnir with its chips, cracks, and iconic inscription and the deity's face focused fiercely on the battle at hand.

Sculpted by Kotobukiya master artist Eric k Sosa, Thor dominates the fine art statue series at nearly 13 inches tall. The blast from the past stands on a crushed rock terrain base that will match those on the other upcoming Classic Avengers Captain America and Iron Man! Start building your classic Marvel team with Thor just in time for the film.

Update: I found a Video Review (below) on youtube of the Kotobukiya "Thor" statue. I do not know the person conducting the review. And, since I'm on Dial-up, I could not watch the whole thing. However it does seem to be an honest review, so I have embedded the video for your convenience. Hope you enjoy.

Going Out of Business Sale! - 10,000 Comics $3000

The Comic Book Listings Blog:

Comic Book Listing News:

Going Out of Business Sale!
36+ Long Boxes
That's 10,000+ Comics For Sale
for Only, $3000

Now this, is what I'm talking about! This is the very reason I created The Comic Book Listings Blog. Why buy comic book collections of 50 or 100, when you buy comic books by the Ton!

Found, on craigslist, is an AD for 36+ Long Boxes of Comics - $3000. Seller says; "I am getting out of the comic book business and need to sell my inventory". Keep in mind I do not know the seller, so you will have to rely on your own Due Diligence. Nevertheless, 10,000 comic books for only $3000 Dollars? That's a Steal at only $0.30 cents each.

Start your own Comic Book Store! If I had the money, you can bet I would have already contacted the seller and you would never see this deal posted on my blog. But, I don't have the money. And even if I did, I'm Married! So it probably wouldn't work out anyway. Come to think of it, that's why I don't have any money. She's, got it all. ARRRRG!!! ...but I digress.

Unfortunately the seller didn't post any pictures, and does not mention a "Comic Book List". But you never know until you ask, and the seller Did post their Phone# on craigslist, so the info, and the Bonanza, is just a phone call away. So, and without further a due. Here is the...

Seller's Description

I am getting out of the comic book business and need to sell my inventory. I have 36 long boxes of comic books and graphic novels, around 10,000+ copies. 85% or more are bagged with a board. Dates range from 70s to early 2000s with most being 80s and 90s. most are near mint condition.

Marvel, DC, Top Cow, Iron Man, Avengers, superman, spider-man, hulk, lady death, vampirella, and many many more. A couple of boxes of magazine size stuff, probably about 100. A long box full of backing boards and a large box a plastic bags. I am asking $3000 for all of them. That is $.30 each. With that cost it is very easy to make a profit if you decide to sell. Plus you get all of those extra backing boards and bags. Call me XXX-XXX-XXXX. Selling as a whole lot, no pick and pull.
