Live Web Event Marks Release of Selznick's Novel "Brave Men Run"



On Sunday, July 13, 2008, author and podcaster Matthew Wayne Selznick will celebrate the release of his book, "Brave Men Run - A Novel of the Sovereign Era" with a groundbreaking all-day live web video event. Dubbed "Sovereign Summer Sunday," the daylong "web-a-thon" has Selznick appearing every hour on the hour, starting at 10:00 AM Eastern / 7:00 AM Pacific time, in a video chat room. He will interact with fans and read original short stories set in the same universe as his book and written by seven prominent authors in the new media space.



"I'm looking to take over the bestseller charts on Amazon.com with the release of 'Brave Men Run,'" Selznick said, "so I'm asking everyone interested in the book to purchase it from Amazon on the same day, July 13."



Concentrated sales on the same day cause a book to quickly rank high on the Amazon.com bestseller charts.



During the event, Selznick will provide updates on the book's success and progress, chat with fans in the embedded chat room, and perform live readings of new short stories set in the "Sovereign Era" universe of "Brave Men Run" written by popular podcasting authors, including J.C. Hutchins ("7th Son"), Mur Lafferty ("Playing for Keeps"), Matt Wallace ("The Failed Cities Monologues"), Nathan Lowell ("Double Share"), P.G. Holyfield ("Murder at Avedon Hill"), J.R. Selznick made new media history once before with "Brave Men Run" in 2005, when the book became the first novel to be simultaneously released as a print-on-demand paperback, an e-book in five formats with no digital rights management restrictions, and a free podcast audiobook. The podcast edition of the book enjoys a world-wide audience in the thousands.

According to Swarm Press founder Jacob Kier, it was the combination of the authors' backgrounds in social media and the quality of their work that brought them to the attention of Swarm.
