Seller Falls on Hard Times;
3000 Comic Books For Sale

Seller says, "My loss = your gain. I need to sell my collection because times are hard. I don't have the time or patience to list individually or in lots on eBay."

So, ok then. Sounds like an opportunity to help somebody out to me. And as, Times Are Hard (even for buyers). Let the negotiations begin.

Seller's Description:
My collection is made up of 2 parts - 1000 books collected because I wanted them and 2000 books bought as a wholesale lot which I originally intended to break up into lots and sell in bulk on eBay.

The 2000 book bulk collection is mostly newer stuff (last 5 years) made up of shelf pulls and is about 1/3 Marvel, 1/3 DC, and 1/3 indies. There are dupes in the bulk collection (up to 5 books in some cases). They are boxed approximately 200 to a box unbagged. The plan with them was to sell 50 at a time for 20-30 bucks per lot on eBay - I see people do this all the time with great success. The 1st person with $400 can take them all (thats 20 cents per book, or about 7% of the cover price). These can easily be marked up to 40-50 cents apiece and moved in lots for a nice payday.

My real collection consists of mostly Marvel books with some DC and indies mixed in. I have too many books to list, but have a good amount of the following: X-Men, Spider Man, Fantastic Four, Thor, New Mutants, etc... There are many more - just ask. All of my books are for sale, so just ask and we can either arrange for a viewing of parts or the entire collection, or ask for particular characters/books and I'll let you know what I have.

Thanks!

San Diego Comic-Con report: God vs. The Super Heroes

The Comic Book Listings Blog:

San Diego Comic-Con report:
God vs. The Super Heroes
or at least, their Fans.

This years Comic-Con in San Diego, California, was riddled with excitement. Not the least of which, was an organized protest by the Westboro Baptist Church.

In "this report" by Bob Calhoun of Salon.com, Bob writes that;

"If Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church had his way, God would be sending biblical plagues down upon the San Diego Convention Center right about now and turning hundreds of nerds dressed in Batman costumes into pillars of salt."
Fred Phelps apparently, is the pastor of the Westboro Baptist Church. And as it turns out, Bob Calhoun actually conducted an interview with Fred Phelps daughter, Margie Phelps. You can read the full interview "here".

In my own humble opinion; this is exactly why God doesn't have any fans as His disciples are always damning people for their sins, instead of forgiving, or even teaching them what sin is, and why they shouldn't do it.

For Every Action, there is an equal and Opposite Reaction.
That's Known "physical law". And after reading the Bible (for myself), I can tell you that, "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth", is the "spiritual equivalent" of the physical law of action /reaction. And even Mr. Spock will tell you that, "there are certain physical laws that Cannot be ignored". For instance; if you walk out in front of a moving car, your gonna get hit. Just like, if you walk into the house of the "strange woman" (Proverbs 7), you will never walk out again. At least, not all in one piece. And not because she will "physically" do harm to you. (Though, getting physical, is not beyond her bounds.) I know, because I found out the hard way. Through, Stupidity and Sin! Which, is what the Bible is really all about; "common sense".

Unfortunately this book of common sense is presented to us as a "Book of Laws", and Damn You should you break one of them. So, we discard the Bible (quickly) without ever thinking that maybe, just maybe, it says something different than what these "Hypocrites" are telling us it says.

In deed I am left wondering if the Westboro Baptist Church is a church of God, or of the Devil, as it is Satan who is the Accuser of the brethren. And Satan who seeks to keep us from the knowledge of common sense as the ignorant (and the offended), are more easily manipulated and controlled than those of knowledge and wisdom. And Behold, as the Comic-Con nerds would in deed form a Counter-protest which, is like forming a wall that now prevents them from seeking God, or even the common sense that is God.

Again, in my humble opinion. There was but one sign that needed to be displayed against the Westboro Baptist Church. For it is the God Himself who comes to our defense saying;

"Let he who is without sin,
cast the first stone."
~ Jesus Christ
(JOHN 8:7)

And there let the Church argue against their own God.
While we, enjoy the convention. :)

Yours truly,
Bargain Hunter

p.s. Of course, a counter-protest is "more fun" than allowing the Christ to stand in our defense. But then, as Every Action Does have an equal and Opposite Reaction, it also makes us just like them. :(

Strange Science Fantasy Comic Book #1

Strange Science Fantasy Comic Book #1
This tongue-in-cheek commentary is written and illustrated by award-winning creator Scott Morse. Each chapter is a seemingly stand-alone tale, grounded by insane landscapes and surprising characters. Take, for instance, this first installment's "Dawn of the Gearheads!," where hip hot-rodders take over a world gone crazy, DaddyO! Or the cinema-minded noir throw-back "The Projectionist." Strange Science Fantasy harkens back to the inspired pre-hero comics of the Golden Age! Issue 1 offers a full 28 pages of story and art plus a bonus 1-page Paul Pope strip!

Condition: New/NM/MT

Comic Books For Sale

Ok patrons of CBL, here we go.
This seller is Desperate and NEEDS to sell his comic books to Pay His Bills. (at least, that's what he says.)

That's 1000 comic books, for only $250. That's $0.25 cents each! Can't beat a deal like that. Of course, that depends on their condition, and judging by the seller's photos it does not "appear as though", these comics have been Bagged and Boarded. So be sure to ask questions. Still, at 25 cents an issue, how good of condition do they need to be in. Nevertheless, the seller may be willing to negotiate an even lower price if, your willing to take the chance that someone else is Not willing, to pay the $0.25.

But enough of My Opinion of the seller and his listing. Here is the;
